SmartyCAT

A conversational interface for intake to the Common Assessment Tool, used by employment services providers. People answer structured questions in a conversation. The result supports input into the provincial application. Offering a medium other than a face-to-face caseworker interview can reduce social-desirability bias and open the assessment to people who need another way in.

SmartyCAT intake conversation 1

What it covers

  • Structured intake, question by question, instead of a free-form interview.
  • A completed intake that can be entered into the provincial application.
  • Another medium and another point of access, not only a human caseworker.
  • Room for answers that are harder to give when someone is sitting across the desk.
  • A session code so the caseworker receives the intake without an open transcript.
